I can not figure out how to replace the icon, and open it to delete the contents inside, Windows Vista is my operating system. A lot of sites tried to take me threw tutorials. Right-click your Desktop - choose Personalize 2. On the left hand pane - you will see an option 'Change desktop icons' - click this 3. Check the box next to 'Recycle Bin' (Click Ok to confirm changes, and when you look at your desktop the icon will be there).
