Years ago my late friend from the United Kingdom Jeff Barker told me of how when he was growing up gay he was incredibly fortunate to have the equivalent of a guidance counselor in their public school be a gay man. It gave him both safe space and a person to run interference for him in his teen years growing up in Manchester.

This SVU story is about a transgender teen a M/F kid played by Bridger Zadina and the interest shown in her by guidance counselor Aisha Hinds. This kid comes from one troubled home where the parents are getting divorced and their child is what divides them. The father does not like having a daughter replace his son and the mother is supportive. When the father is beaten and nearly killed the investigation takes them to Zadina. But it's Hinds that cops to the crime and she's done more than give moral support. In fact she's supplied Zadina with the needed medications to transition.

Michaela McManus is the ADA on the case and there's a rule of them that you never ask a question without knowing the answer. Does she get an unexpected answer when Hinds is put on the stand by defense attorney Alex Kingston.

So this review goes out to the late Jeff Barker as Alex Kingston proves her client of empathy in the first degree.

Infinity Box Setup 2.20. When a woman is found wandering around in her underwear and there are signs she was assaulted, she's brought to the hospital and SVU is called. When they talk to the woman she doesn't know what they are talking about and thinks it's the day before. And when they learn she was suppose to go out of the country, they check video surveillance at the airport and see that some guy slipped something in her drink and made her go with him. They find the man and arrest him. But they don't have enough to charge him. They learn this is not his first time; that he has done this before and to several other women.

Goofs When Kelly Sun fully regains consciousness in the hospital, she panics because she has to be in Korea on Friday, only to be told by Stabler it's already Friday, and that she's missed her flight. It's established that Kelly was at the airport 'last night' - Thursday - when she was drugged. That's not nearly enough time to get to South Korea by Friday; a non-stop flight from New York to Seoul takes at least 14 hours, and Seoul is 14 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. (Had Kelly left New York on Thursday evening, she likely would have arrived in Korea very late Friday or early Saturday,) ».
